Colloidal Silver

Classified among the most harmful substances promoted in alternative health, alongside chelation therapy and colloidal minerals. Nanoparticle sizing allows free-radical metals, including mercury and thallium, to penetrate cells directly, causing neurological accumulation and chronic damage the body requires years to clear.

Colloidal silver was, in Aajonus's view, one of the most dangerous substances promoted within the alternative health community, and he spoke about it with unusual bluntness. He rejected it entirely, without qualification, and placed it in the same category of harm as chelation therapy and colloidal mineral supplements. His objection was not a matter of dosage or preparation method. The problem was structural: colloidal silver is metallic mineral matter reduced to an ultra-microscopic, nanoparticle size, which allows it to enter cells directly. That intracellular penetration is precisely what makes it so damaging, because once free-radical metallic minerals are inside a cell, they contaminate it in ways the body cannot easily reverse.

He was consistent across many years and many workshops in calling colloidal silver toxic. He acknowledged that he had known three people who appeared to tolerate it without obvious harm, but he framed those cases as exceptions he could not fully explain, and in at least one instance he noted that iridology suggested the person was storing the metals on the outer membrane of cells rather than inside them, which was why the damage had not yet become visible as grey skin. Against those three, he had known hundreds of people who suffered severe and lasting harm from long-term colloidal silver use.

The claim most commonly made by colloidal silver proponents, that it acts as a natural antibiotic, Aajonus did not dispute in its narrow mechanical sense. He agreed it had an antibiotic effect. His point was that this is exactly what makes it dangerous. It poisons the body, and the body responds by shutting down activity, which is interpreted as healing. The same mechanism that makes antibiotics destructive applies here, because all antibiotics, in his framework, work by poisoning rather than by supporting.

What Colloidal Silver Actually Contains

Aajonus described colloidal silver as not simply a silver preparation but a substance containing multiple toxic metals, including mercury, thallium, and aluminum. He stated this directly and repeatedly. The silver used in jewelry and industrial applications, and by extension in colloidal preparations, is dirty silver, meaning it contains these contaminants as a matter of course. He explained that thallium is a metal comparable in softness to lead but nearly as toxic as mercury, ranking it as the second most toxic substance after mercury, followed by arsenic and then lead. Having these metals reduced to ultra-microscopic colloidal form and then consumed in a liquid preparation means they bypass normal digestive barriers and go intracellular.

He also pointed to this contamination when discussing silver jewelry and silverware. He warned that putting any acidic substance, including tomato juice, in contact with silver releases mercury and thallium from it, both of which are highly toxic metals. Silver amalgam fillings were discussed separately but in the same framework: the silver in them is a vehicle for mercury exposure, with mercury vapor being continuously released and inhaled.

The Colloidal Mechanism Problem

The word "colloidal" means that minerals are dissolved into a liquid in particles small enough to be absorbed intracellularly without needing to be processed through the body's normal mineral pathways. Aajonus explained that plants are equipped to take inorganic minerals from rock, dissolved in water by rain acting as a solvent, and convert them into bioavailable organic forms. Animals eat the plants and get those nutrients in a form coupled with vitamins, proteins, and fats. Humans are positioned further along that chain and are not equipped to receive raw inorganic mineral matter directly.

When minerals enter the body in their inorganic, isolated, colloidal form, they are not bound to vitamins, proteins, fats, or carbohydrates. They are what Aajonus called free radicals. Free radical minerals are electromagnetically active in a way that is chemically oriented rather than biologically oriented. Because the brain and nervous system use metallic minerals heavily for their functions, they absorb the majority of these free-radical minerals when they arrive in the body. This is why heavy metal toxicity from colloidal preparations tends to accumulate in neurological tissue.

A cell, he explained, has one or two ions inside it. When it opens to receive nutrients, it expects to attract from a smorgasbord containing 93 to 117 elements in proportions that allow it to function. When instead it encounters free-radical colloidal minerals not coupled to anything else, those minerals enter the cell without the accompanying cofactors, and the cell cannot use them properly. They contaminate rather than nourish.

Severity and Duration of Harm

Aajonus gave specific accounts of the severity and duration of damage from colloidal silver. He described witnessing people turn their systems completely toxic from a single bottle of colloidal silver, with the resulting chronic fatigue lasting up to seven years before the body could clear it. He described seeing people become invalids from long-term use. The skin discoloration he mentioned most often was grey or steel-grey skin, which he read as a sign that metals were being stored either inside cells or on their outer membranes, with the outside-the-cell storage producing the less severe but still visible grey skin tone.

In iridology sessions described in the transcripts, when he looked at someone's eyes and saw that what should have been blue eyes appeared steel grey, his interpretation was that colloidal silver was being deposited on the outside of cells rather than inside them. He characterized this as the less damaging of the two patterns, but still a sign of metal accumulation. He told this individual they were handling it better than most, given ten years of use, but the metal accumulation was visible and real.

Colloidal Silver As Antibiotic

Aajonus drew a direct parallel between colloidal silver and pharmaceutical antibiotics. Both work by poisoning the body. The body, responding to this poisoning, reduces or halts various biological processes. This cessation of activity can look like an infection being resolved, but in his framework what is actually happening is that the body has been forced into a kind of metabolic shutdown. He held that this is the mechanism of all antibiotics and that colloidal silver operates identically, which is why it appears to work against infections while actually causing cumulative harm.

Colloidal Minerals and Chelation Therapy

Aajonus grouped colloidal silver with colloidal minerals generally and with chelation therapy as the three most toxic alternative therapies he had encountered. He stated that the claim made for chelation therapy, that it pulls toxic metals like lead and mercury out of the body, may be partially true, but that the chelation agents themselves are full of metals already, delivered in a fine solution that lodges in both the bones and the lymph. The result is not a net removal of metals but a relocation of them deeper into the body, often into bones and lymphatic tissue.

He said that when someone spoke to him of colloidal silver, colloidal minerals, or chelation therapy, his response was immediate and unambiguous: "I hope the hair on your back bristles up and tell them not to." He framed these as a category of harm that the alternative health community had not adequately recognized.

What Aajonus Used Instead

Rather than anything colloidal, Aajonus relied on food-based fats and specific fruits and juices to pull metals from the body safely. His primary tool was coconut cream, which he demonstrated could dissolve metals from a metal lid in under an hour, faster than any other fat. Butter would take a day to a week on the same surface. Olive oil and flax oil, three days to a week. Coconut oil, even longer. But raw dairy cream or coconut cream used together with specific berries formed his primary protocol for heavy metal removal.

For dark heavy metals such as tin, mercury, cadmium, and lead, he recommended dark berries including blueberries, blackberries, and boysenberries combined with coconut cream and dairy cream. For lighter metals such as iron, rust-colored deposits, and iodine-related metals, he recommended raspberries and strawberries in coconut cream. For aluminum, raspberries with raw butter, raw cream, and coconut cream. Lime juice, two to three tablespoons, was added to these berry meals to help harness the dissolved metals and prevent them from damaging tissue as they moved through the body, though he noted that lime juice also has antiseptic properties that slow bacterial activity and digestion, which is why lemon juice in a smaller amount was added alongside it to reinstate bacterial action.

He was emphatic that these metal-pulling foods should always be accompanied by sufficient fat. Without fat present to bind with the dissolved metals as they move through the body, the metals can burn and scar tissue, cause nerve damage, or create ulcers. This is precisely the danger he identified with approaches like cilantro-based detox protocols and colloidal preparations: they may move metals but without the fat needed to escort them safely out. His instruction was to always have coconut cream, dairy cream, or butter present when any metal-dissolving food is being consumed.

For someone with high metal contamination from any source, including from colloidal silver use, he recommended rotating among different fats with each juice, specifically to pull metals from different areas of the body in sequence and avoid concentrating the toxicity in one location at once.

Dirty Silver: Thallium And Mercury

One of the most detailed case studies Aajonus presented in relation to silver toxicity involved a woman who was a jewelry maker. She worked directly over a Bunsen burner for ten to twelve hours a day, with her face two to three inches from the flame, inhaling vaporized silver and its contaminants without a mask and without gloves. She was absorbing mercury and thallium continuously over many years.

When she came to Aajonus with cancer, he worked with her on the diet and succeeded in reducing a breast tumor by 50 percent. Then she entered a vomiting phase, which he said most cancer patients go through. Her vomit was analyzed, and a laboratory called him to report that someone was poisoning her, because her vomit contained three times the lethal dose of thallium. When the lab reports were reviewed in sequence, the numbers varied significantly across three separate analyses, which he attributed to possible laboratory protection concerns, though he could not confirm this.

What he ultimately concluded was that the thallium and mercury were not from an external poisoning source but from her years of inhaling vaporized silver over the Bunsen burner. She vomited the metals in sequence, with thallium coming out over about one week and lead over about two weeks. Despite the cancer dissolving, she died because she could not eat during the prolonged vomiting and became too thin to sustain herself. He described her case as an illustration of the limits of dietary intervention when the original toxic load is large enough and the exposure has continued long enough.

Grey Skin as Diagnostic Sign

Aajonus identified grey or steel-grey skin as the characteristic outward sign of colloidal silver accumulation in the body. He referenced this in iridology sessions and in general descriptions of people who took large amounts of colloidal silver long-term. The mechanism he described was that the metallic deposits from the preparation end up stored in the skin and lymphatic tissue when the body cannot move them through normal elimination channels. He also noted that people who wore silver jewelry that caused skin discoloration were experiencing a similar phenomenon: mercury and thallium from impure silver leaching directly through the skin.
