**Tooth Pain** is not primarily a bacterial condition, nor is it a sign that the tooth itself is diseased in the way conventional dentistry frames it. According to Aajonus, tooth pain arises from one of several distinct mechanisms: exposed nerves, heat damage from drilling, the presence of toxic metals passing through the dentine, improper fillings placed directly on live nerve tissue, or the body conducting an active detoxification process through the gum and nerve pathways. The bacteria present in a diseased tooth are not the cause of the decay, they are janitorial, showing up to clean damaged tissue after the real damage has already been done by industrial toxins, heavy metals, and cauterized minerals.
Aajonus's Definition
Tooth Pain is not primarily a bacterial condition, nor is it a sign that the tooth itself is diseased in the way conventional dentistry frames it.
Gum Pain and Sensitivity is defined by Aajonus as most often the result of low blood protein levels accompanied by low blood sugar levels. Additionally, gum pain and recession arise when the brain is dumping accumulated toxic heavy metals, mercury, thallium, aluminum, lead, cadmium, down through the gum tissue as a detoxification route. The gums are one of the primary exit points the body uses to remove toxins stored in the brain, particularly when a person does not have tonsils. The body then employs alkalinizing minerals, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, to bind with those toxic metals as they pass through, producing the physical substance known as plaque. Plaque is therefore not the enemy but a protective response, though an imperfect one that still allows toxic metal penetration through to the dentine.
Heart / Chest Pain (referred to as angina pectoris in the written texts) is cross-referenced as cardiovascular, but in the broader context of pain, Aajonus places chest pain around the heart firmly within the category of pain conditions that require dietary mitigation.
Muscular Pain is a condition caused fundamentally by inadequate dietary fats, sugars, and proteins needed to support ongoing muscular function, detoxification, and repair. The body experiencing muscular pain is signaling nutritional deficiency, particularly of the raw fats and enzymes that allow the musculature to process accumulated metabolic waste.
Bone Pain and Growing Pains are defined as conditions of mineral deficiency and mineral unavailability. Aajonus is emphatic that cooked and processed minerals are essentially useless for rebuilding bone, he calls them "cauterized" and says they function as fertilizer for plants, not food for humans. Bone is rebuilt exclusively through biologically active minerals consumed in their raw, protein-bound state, with raw cheese and honey being the preeminent rebuilding combination.
Dental Pain Broadly, including the pain associated with abscesses, root canals, and extractions, is reframed as either: (a) the pain of ongoing detoxification of heavy metals that have accumulated in the nerve tissue and surrounding bone, (b) the pain of nerve exposure from improper dental work or tooth decay, or (c) the iatrogenic pain caused by Novocaine/epinephrine injections, which Aajonus says solidify and harden the gums, cause swelling, stop circulation to the bone, and convert what should be a few seconds of pain into days or weeks of toothache.

Root Cause
For Tooth Decay and Cavities:
The root cause of cavities is the passage of toxic heavy metals, primarily mercury, thallium, aluminum, and lead, down from their storage site in the brain, through the gum tissue, and against the dentine. Aajonus is unequivocal: "Bacteria does not cause cavities, biggest joke in the world. You can apply bacteria straight with no toxic minerals to the teeth and it will never, ever cause degeneration of the dentine. I've done it in a laboratory."
The mechanism is as follows: toxic metals from vaccines, amalgam fillings, canned foods, processed foods, pesticides, herbicides, food colorings, preservatives, chlorinated and fluorinated waters, caffeine (including chocolate), Novocaine, and recreational and medical drugs accumulate in the brain. The body dumps these metals downward through the gum tissue. As they pass through, the body recruits alkalinizing minerals, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, all of which are "cauterized" (denatured) in people eating cooked diets, to bind with the acidic toxic metals and form plaque on the tooth surface.
When the plaque is insufficiently protective because the alkalinizing minerals are cauterized (cooked calcium retains only 50% of its alkalinizing ability; cooked phosphorus essentially loses its alkalinizing ability entirely), the toxic metals break through the plaque and reach the dentine. There they destroy cells. One molecule of mercury, Aajonus states, can destroy approximately 5,000 healthy cells. When dentine cells are destroyed, bacteria appear to consume the damaged tissue, not to cause the cavity, but to clean it. The bacteria are "janitors," not perpetrators.
The analogy he uses: "Whenever you go and see the damage in a hotel after a rock party has left, you don't blame the janitors for all the damage."
Additional sources of the toxic metals that cause dental destruction include amalgam fillings themselves, which continue leaching mercury out through the gums even after they are in place. This mercury then re-damages the dentine from the inside out.
For Gum Sensitivity and Recession:
The primary cause is twofold: (1) low blood protein level combined with low blood sugar level, and (2) the body's use of the gums as an ongoing detoxification pathway for brain-stored toxins. Gum recession is not caused by the Primal Diet; Aajonus observes that the people he knows with receding gums are overwhelmingly vegetarians and vegans, especially fruitarians. He also notes that most people develop receding gums as they age regardless of diet, because "we are living in a polluted world of immense airborne, medical and food contamination consisting of radical chemicals that are overly acidic and cause gum and tooth diseases."
Aajonus draws upon the example of the Inuit, Samburu, and Masai: "None of those tribes had ANY gum problems or carries as long as they ate their normal raw diets of raw meats and raw dairy. They have the finest teeth into old age that is recorded."
For Plaque Formation:
Plaque is the body's protective mineral matrix binding toxic metals that are exiting the brain through the gums. It is composed primarily of cauterized calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium wrapping around mercury, thallium, lead, cadmium, aluminum, and other toxic metals. Because these alkalinizing minerals have been denatured by cooking, they cannot fully neutralize the acidic toxic metals, and the plaque becomes thick but still insufficient to protect the dentine. The toxic metals then break through the plaque, damage dentine cells, and bacteria arrive secondarily to consume the damaged material.
For Root Canal Abscesses:
When a tooth has had a root canal, and the nerve tissue in the root retains absorbed mercury and thallium from amalgam fillings, the body continues attempting to detoxify these metals through the nerve. This produces abscesses, holes in the gum with pus coming out. Aajonus reframes this explicitly: "It's the toxins in the nerve that's trying to dump, and it will dump an abscess, and it will make holes out your gum, all over here, and you'll have holes and pus coming out. Again, the pus is not dangerous. It's what the white blood cells have eaten that are toxic." He advises not swallowing it but spitting it out.
For Growing Pains:
Growing pains indicate that the body is building tissue, bone, muscle, connective, rapidly and is temporarily deficient in the raw mineral-rich foods needed to sustain that growth. The solution is full-fat raw milk, fresh air, and sunshine.
For Muscular Pain:
Muscular pain arises from inadequacy in the raw dietary inputs, specifically the absence of sufficient raw fat, raw sugar from natural sources (unripe bananas, unripe pineapple, unripe melon, dates, figs), and raw protein in the form of milk, that are required to process metabolic waste within the muscle tissue and to fuel ongoing repair. When the person is also inclined toward high adrenaline production and an acidic constitution, beef may intensify muscular or general pain, in which case the dietary approach shifts to raw fish, butter-honey mix, raw cheese, raw milk with bee pollen, and unheated honey.
For Bone Pain and Bone Loss:
Bone loss is caused by systemic mineral depletion, inadequate raw mineral intake, and the body's necessity to use alkalinizing minerals to neutralize acidic toxic metals. Radiation therapy is cited as a direct cause of bone dissolution: "After chemotherapy and radiation, especially after radiation, it dissolved all the bone around my teeth. My teeth dangled in my gums."
Implants placed in the jaw are additionally identified as a cause of ongoing bone damage: "Whatever implants are going to put in you is going to damage the bone, could release many toxins. Not even stainless steel when it's drilled into the bone is safe from dissolving."
For Tooth Pain from Novocaine:
Novocaine, Xylocaine, Colossus (epinephrine-containing anesthetics) cause swelling in the gums and bone. They stop circulation into the bone. They harden the entire mouth. What should be a few seconds of sharp pain from a drill touching a nerve is transformed into days or weeks of swollen, throbbing toothache. Aajonus: "A brief moment of pain will last because it causes swelling. So now you've got a toothache that's going to go days or weeks instead of a split second."
He also observed personally that Novocaine burned holes in his gum tissue all the way from his palate up to his sinuses: "The Novocaine, I'm so healthy, it threw out my gums. And of course it burned. My gums turned white, and the gums just receded. It just fell away. And in a hole, all the way from my palate up to my sinuses, as if I had a cleft palate, it burned a hole right there."

Why This Happens
primary principle: Root Cause / Terrain Theory
All dental, gum, and bone pain conditions fall fundamentally under terrain theory: the body's internal toxin load, accumulated through vaccines, processed foods, amalgam fillings, anesthetic drugs, and industrial contamination, is the root driver. The bacteria present are secondary responders, never primary causes.
Cooked Food
The inadequacy of cooked minerals, their "cauterized" state that strips them of 50–100% of their alkalinizing ability, is central to understanding why people eating cooked diets experience severe dental deterioration while raw-eating indigenous peoples do not.
Detoxification
The gums, salivary glands, and tongue are identified as primary detoxification exit routes for brain-stored toxins. Abscesses, pus, gum recession, plaque formation, and even pain itself during dental episodes are reframed as active detoxification processes.
Sovereignty
The entire approach to dental work, refusing x-rays when possible, refusing Novocaine, pulling one's own tooth with kite string, going to Mexico for dentists who comply with Aajonus's approach, refusing root canals, refusing to allow the removal of bones and teeth that his body could regenerate, is an expression of radical health sovereignty.
How to Eat
The specific food protocols for each type of pain, pain formula with eggs, bee pollen, honey, lemon, cream/coconut cream/butter plus cheese; cheese with honey for bone remineralization; raw milk for gum healing; raw fish for mineral supply, belong to the "how to eat" framework.

Symptoms Reframed
Tooth Pain, not a signal to extract, drill, or fill with mercury, but a signal that either (a) the nerve is exposed and needs a calcium powder covering (biocalyx) to stop the swelling, (b) the body is detoxifying metals through the tooth's nerve pathway, or (c) iatrogenic damage from prior dental work (heat from drilling, anesthetic injections) has burned the nerve. If there was pain at any point, the nerve was alive: "If you had pain, it was alive." He challenged dentists who said nerves were dead by asking them to poke the tooth and watching it bleed.
Gum Disease / Receding Gums, not caused by the diet, not caused by bacteria, but caused by toxic metals dumping from the brain through the gum tissue as a primary detox route. People who appear to have "gum disease" on the Primal Diet are undergoing active detoxification. The gums are doing their proper job. Aajonus distinguishes this from the conventional framing: gum disease and tooth decay are "two separate issues although they can be caused by the same toxins."
Plaque, not a product of poor oral hygiene or bacterial overgrowth, but the body's protective alkaline mineral matrix binding toxic metals exiting the brain. Removing plaque is still advised (through oil pulling or other means) because even though it is protective, leaving it in place long-term allows the metals to eventually penetrate the dentine anyway, and the plaque itself is largely composed of cauterized minerals that are only partially effective at neutralizing the acids.
Abscesses / Pus at the Gumline, not a dangerous infection requiring antibiotics or extraction, but the body actively processing and eliminating heavy metals that were stored in the nerve tissue. The pus is the residue of white blood cells that have consumed toxic material. "The pus is not dangerous. It's what the white blood cells have eaten that are toxic." Spit it out; don't swallow.
Bone Loss Around Teeth, not irreversible, not requiring implants or prosthetics, but a condition that can be reversed with raw cheese and honey. Aajonus watched his own bone grow back from dangling, blood-spilling teeth in the context of radiation-induced dissolution, and then again after the traumatic jaw injury in Thailand, defying the prognosis of three specialist surgeons.
Root Canal Abscesses Affecting the Whole Body, Aajonus acknowledges these are serious and can cause systemic symptoms: general fatigue, neck and shoulder soreness and stiffness, reddened eyes. The body is trying to dissolve and remove nerve and bone toxicity. The fatigue can continue for years as long as detoxification continues. He states that even on a healthy diet, the toxicity around root-canaled teeth can require more nutrients than most people can eat, and in those persistent cases it may be preferable to extract.
The Loose Tooth After Jaw Trauma (Personal Account), Three surgeons told him that the bone was so damaged it would go into necrosis, the teeth would rot, and infection would go to the brain. He would die. He reframed this as them not knowing what his diet could do. He had the bone repositioned and wired, refused further intervention, and within three months, not three years, bone was growing back, gum was growing back, nerves were still alive, and the teeth were firmly re-solidifying. "To them that's a medical miracle. Absolute miracle."
Tooth Looseness After Implants / Root Canals, when a patient presents with pain in the neck described as arthritis-like after having an implant placed, Aajonus raises the possibility that the implant (a metal rod drilled into bone) is the source of ongoing toxicity and nerve disruption. He is cautious about implants universally: even stainless steel drilled into bone releases toxic compounds.
Growing Pains, not a developmental pathology, but a signal of accelerated tissue construction that is outpacing nutrient intake. The body is simply building faster than it is being fed. Full-fat raw milk, fresh air, and sunshine are the answer.
Muscular Pain, not fibromyalgia, not mysterious autoimmune dysfunction, but an inadequacy of the specific raw fats, sugars, and proteins needed to process metabolic waste in the muscles and support repair.
Gum Sensitivity, "Most often the result of low blood protein level accompanied by low blood sugar level." The gum tissue lacks the structural protein to be robust, and the blood sugar level is insufficient to sustain the rapid cellular repair the gums require.
The Sensation of Jaw Reverberation from Stomping, when a person stomps their foot and feels a throb or reverberation in the upper right molars, Aajonus reframes this not as pathology requiring dental intervention but as evidence of "swelling in your upper right molars, detoxification and/or healing. Probably healing because you do not have pain."

Food Protocol
---
The Pain Formula (for dental pain, including tooth pain)
The latest pain formula as described in the book and seminars: - 2 eggs - 5 level tablespoons of bee pollen - 1 teaspoon of unheated honey - 1½ tablespoons of lemon juice - 3–4 oz of either raw cream, raw coconut cream, or raw butter
Blend together for 30–50 seconds.
While drinking this, eat a 1 inch × 1 inch × 3 inch slice of raw, no-salt-added cheese simultaneously.
For dental pain specifically, a person may need to have two of these pain formulas per day. Aajonus notes this may still not be sufficient by itself for severe dental pain, and adds the following caveat from personal experience: "When I went through my pain I had to have protein, I had to stay completely away from fruits. So I did not eat eggs unless it was with meat, to make sure it did not get made into a solvent."
He also describes taking whole cloves (not clove oil, which he considers never truly raw and which had previously ruptured his gums), placing them in the affected area of the mouth about four hours before dental surgery.
---
For Gum Sensitivity (low blood protein + low blood sugar)
- Eating plenty of unheated honey
- Drinking raw milk
- Consuming raw meat (or drinking raw milk within 2 hours after eating raw meat)
These two together, the honey and the raw milk combined with raw meat timing, "mitigate gum pain."
---
For Gum Disease / Toxic Metals Dumping Through Gums
- Oil pulling or other mechanical means to remove the metal-laden plaque as it forms, because even though it is protective, the cauterized minerals in the plaque are only 50% effective at neutralizing the acids
- When the body is detoxifying heavily through the gums, eating enough cheese (to absorb toxins) and some clay throughout the day to absorb toxins
- A hot water bottle, or a small glass jar of hot water, placed against the affected area of the face to soften "hardened stuff so I know it's not going to come out as a boil; it's going to be leaking down my gums"
---
For Bone Remineralization (bone pain, bone loss, tooth socket bone loss)
The primary discovery: "Cheese was one of the things that helped me... when I was working with somebody... I said, eat lots and lots of cheese with honey. And sure enough, he replaced the bone in about a month. Bone in a month from eating cheese, two tablespoons of cheese twice a day with two and..." [text continues but quantity of honey is cut off in source, though other passages consistently describe approximately 1–2½ teaspoons honey with cheese]
The full bone-building cheese-honey protocol as described elsewhere:
Step 1: 25 minutes after finishing a meat meal, eat either 1 cube or 2 cubes of cheese (each cube approximately sugar-cube size, approximately half a teaspoon each, so approximately 1 teaspoon total of cheese at this stage).
Step 2: 10 minutes after that first cheese, eat 1½ to 3 tablespoons of cheese with 1½ to 2½ teaspoons of honey.
Aajonus specifies: "Small amount of honey. With a lot of cheese. And that will remineralize the bones fast. Remineralize the body fast."
For tooth pain specifically: Do this sequence 2–3 times per day.
For severe osteoporosis (he cites the example of a woman with 32% bone thinning): Have the cheese-honey sequence after two meat meals per day [plus a third time mentioned but the sentence cuts off in the source].
Aajonus also describes personally eating raw milk consistently over two years to grow bone back around his dangling, radiation-damaged teeth: "The bone grew back from eating all the raw milk around my teeth. Took two years, but it grew, it regenerated and healed."
And from his earlier recovery from radiation-induced full bone dissolution: "As I was drinking this carrot juice and milk, I started getting better and better... within a year, the bone grew around my teeth, so I didn't lose my teeth."
---
For Muscular Pain
- Drinking plenty of full-fat raw milk
- Unripe bananas
- Fresh raw unripe pineapple
- Unripe melon
- Non-steamed dates and figs
- "Plen..." [text cuts off in source, but context implies plenty of the above]
---
For Growing Pains
- Drinking plenty of full-fat raw milk
- Getting fresh air and sunshine
---
For Pain Where Adrenaline / Acidity Is a Factor (relevant to muscular and some dental pain)
When a person is inclined to be acidic or runs on adrenaline, eating beef may increase pain. In this case: - Full-fat raw milk blended with fresh bee pollen - Raw fish - Butter/honey mix - No-salt-added raw cheese These foods "mitigate pain" in the acidic/adrenaline-dominant constitution.
---
For Nerve-Exposed Tooth (tooth not yet requiring extraction)
Biocalyx (a calcium-based powder) applied directly to the exposed nerve surface: - "If your nerve is exposed, you have to put some kind of powder on it, calcium powder on it to stop it from swelling." - "The calcium will absorb the excess moisture and that swelling will stop." - Even with an infected nerve: "You put biocalyx, it'll dry the nerve out." - After applying biocalyx, a filling is placed over it, and there is no pain. - "If you put the biocalyx, like a calcium of powder on it and then put the filling over that, no pain. Even if you have an infected nerve, you put biocalyx it'll dry the nerve out."
Aajonus specifies that "the only way you can infect a nerve is if you drill it and heat it. Or poison it with mercury."
---
For Dental Surgery Preparation / Pain Management
Before amalgam removal (Aajonus's personal protocol, 1978): - Pain formula: butter and some other components (text cuts off with "Butter..." in source) - He had all 16 amalgams removed with no Novocaine whatsoever over two days: all bottom amalgams removed in 4 hours one morning, all top amalgams removed the following morning in 4 hours - His signal to the dentist to stop: touching the dentist's knee when the drill bit got hot, at which point the dentist dipped the bit in cold water and restarted - Result: "Relatively no pain. A lot of discomfort and tension."
The key principle for pain-free drilling: the drill bit must never be allowed to get hot. When the bit gets hot, the nerve burns, and the resulting pain lasts for days because it is a "blistered burn." A cold water jet on the drill bit prevents this entirely. Laser drilling is also recommended as an alternative.
---
For Coconut Cream Application to a Breaking Tooth
One patient described applying lime juice for 2 days to a breaking tooth, then switching to coconut cream application. Aajonus does not explicitly endorse or correct the lime juice use but addresses the broader dental situation. The coconut cream appeared to reduce sensitivity: the tooth was "no longer sensitive to cold."
---
For Absorbing Toxins from Gum Boils / Abscesses
- Enough cheese throughout the day
- Some clay throughout the day
- These absorb the toxins as they drain from infected/detoxing gum tissue
The hot-water-in-a-jar technique: "I take a little jar, glass jar full of hot water and I put it there and will just sleep with it next to that area and it softens that hardened stuff so I know it's not going to come out as a boil; it's going to be leaking down my gums."
---
Honey as a Dental and Digestive Aid
Aajonus describes personally experiencing the dissolution of a bone he was chewing as soon as he introduced a small amount of honey into the oral environment: "As soon as I put that honey in my mouth, that bone just dissolved. Broke it down just like that. Just crumbled. Honey is an incredible nutrient enzymatic digestive help, especially if you don't have hydrochloric acid."
He also notes honey's function as a mouth and lip lubricator.
---
For Chest / Heart Pain (Angina Pectoris)
Aajonus refers the reader to the Angina Pectoris section rather than detailing it in the passages captured here, noting "Chest pains around the heart: "
---
What to Avoid
- iNovocaine / Xylocaine / Epinephrine-containing anesthetics:
"You're likely to get some kind of tumor in the mouth." These drugs solidify the gums, stop circulation into the bone, cause swelling in both gums and bone, and convert a split-second of sharp pain into days or weeks of toothache. Aajonus personally experienced Novocaine burning holes in his gum tissue all the way up to the sinus cavity, opening what appeared to be a cleft palate from the palate to the sinus.
- iiX-rays:
Aajonus avoids x-rays where possible. He refused to allow x-rays after his jaw injury in Thailand. He goes to Mexico specifically because his dentist there "doesn't require x-rays or anything." When a filling appears to be decaying, he permits "one X-ray only of that tooth and it has to be the tiniest X-ray-exposure possible."
- iiiAmalgam / Silver Fillings:
"Amalgam fillings, called silver fillings, contain large quantities of toxic mercury and should not be used to fill teeth." The mercury is absorbed into the nerve and surrounding bone and continues leaching for years. One molecule of mercury can destroy approximately 5,000 healthy cells.
- ivHot Drill Bits:
"The tooth will only get frightfully painful when it's being drilled if the bit gets hot." The nerve burns. A burn on the nerve creates swelling, dead nerve cells, and days of pain as the body floods the area with fluid to dissolve and remove the burned cells. "A tooth wasn't meant to receive that kind of heat deep in it."
- vImplants:
"Whatever implants are going to put in you is going to damage the bone, could release many toxins. Not even stainless steel when it's drilled into the bone is safe from dissolving." If the teeth on either side are already capped, a cap with a false tooth bridged between them is preferable. If not, leaving the gap open is preferable to implantation. Aajonus strongly prefers his own dead bone to any dental prosthesis.
- viRoot Canal Procedures (with important nuance):
Aajonus himself has had "up to 5 root canals at a time" in his mouth without the catastrophic systemic effects claimed by Price and Meinig. He explicitly states: "I do not accept the neo-dentists' views on root canals." However, he also acknowledges that if "persistent infection occurs, it may be preferable to have a root-canal tooth extracted" because the detoxification demand on the body may exceed what even a good diet can supply. The key distinction: "Having a tooth pulled only seals off the exit point of detoxification. If the tooth naturally, completely releases from the nerve and bone, then extraction is appropriate."
- vii
He also addresses Meinig's recommendation to drill out 1 millimeter of the bony socket and remove the periodontal ligament after extraction: "I prefer my own bone, dead or not, to any dental prosthesis. Most alternative dentists want to make their work more important than it is. Of course, having surgery and undergoing all of the chemicals involved is going to distract the body from its other problems for a long while, up to 5 years. So, the claim that removal and scraping into the root corrects disease is basically false."
- viiiUnnecessary Extraction:
"When the tooth is attached to the bone, it does not need extracting." A dentist who claims a nerve is dead is often lying. Aajonus's test: poke it and see if it bleeds. If it bleeds, it is alive. "If you had pain, it was alive."
- ixClove Oil:
"Clove oil is never raw." Aajonus used clove oil at an earlier period and says it ruptured his gums. He switched to whole cloves placed in the affected area about four hours before dental work.
- xProcessed Minerals / Supplements (for bone building):
"Oh, high calcium and magnesium. You're eating rock. Do you eat rock? Do we survive on rock? No. Rock is for plants to eat. Any kind of dried mine minerals is a fertilizer for plants, not for us. We need it in a biological form." This applies to dolomite, calcium supplements, and similar products sold as bone-building supplements.
- xiPearl Powder as Tooth Filling:
A correspondent raised the Mayan use of pearl powder to fill teeth. Aajonus responds: "Pearl is rock also. It is not a food source for us. Dogs and cats might be able to use a little of it, but not humans properly. Pearl powder as a filling makes it a good hard substance, but can we digest teeth? If you swallowed your tooth it would pass whole through your digestive tract." His test: "Have someone consume 1/4 cup with only water..." [text cuts off, but the implication is that it would pass undigested, proving it is not a living mineral that the body can use].
- xiiBeef (in acidic/adrenaline-dominant constitutions):
When a person is inclined to be acidic or runs on adrenaline, beef may increase pain, including dental and muscular pain. In those cases, shift to raw fish, raw cheese, butter-honey mix, and raw milk with bee pollen.
- xiiiFruits (during severe dental pain):
When going through intense dental pain, Aajonus personally "had to stay completely away from fruits" and did not eat eggs unless paired with meat, to prevent the eggs from being turned into a solvent rather than a building food.
- xivSteel Rods / Metal Filling Reinforcements:
"They put a steel rod in there so I'd rather have a piece of bone or something to strengthen the tooth." If a tooth needs internal reinforcement, bone or ivory are the preferred materials; bone is considered better than ivory. If the tooth must be filled, the best filling materials are porcelain or ceramic inlays. For crowns and bridges, gold-reinforced ones are preferable because "so much more of the natural tooth structure must be removed" when using other materials (implying that gold's properties minimize further destruction).
- xvBioflex / Plastic Caps:
One questioner mentions "bioflex" as a filling substance, describing it as "like a calcium, like dolomite." Aajonus expresses uncertainty about the name ("I can't remember") but suggests if a root canal fill is needed, pack with the substance and put a plastic cap over it, while emphasizing that bone or ivory stuffed inside the tooth are preferable for strengthening it.

Recovery Timeline
Radiation-Induced Bone Dissolution Around Teeth: After chemotherapy and radiation dissolved all bone around his teeth so badly that "my teeth dangled in my gums" and "if I went like that, I lost half a cup of blood," Aajonus began drinking raw carrot juice and raw milk. Within one year, bone began to grow back around the teeth, and he did not lose them. Full stabilization and healing continued over two years. "The bone grew back from eating all the raw milk around my teeth. Took two years, but it grew, it regenerated and healed."
Traumatic Jaw Fracture (Thailand Incident, Personal Account): Two assailants broke his jaw on both sides, severed the nerve bundle running through the jaw in two places, knocked the bone completely out of position under his tongue, and he lost several teeth. Three surgical specialists and six dental nurses said the bone would go into necrosis and he would lose all affected teeth and potentially die from brain infection.
He had the bone repositioned and wired. He had Novocaine administered (which he subsequently regretted deeply, as it burned a hole from his palate to his sinuses). He required two hours of surgical repositioning approximately 10–11 hours after the injury.
Timeline of recovery: - He was still unable to chew with the front teeth at approximately 2 months and 3 weeks post-injury (late February in the account, with the injury occurring on approximately December 1st or "the 1st of March, it will be three months") - At the 2-month-and-2-week mark (when he saw the dentist): "your teeth are actually solidly firming in there" - Estimated one additional month before he could chew with the front teeth: approximately 4 months total for chewing function to return - The dentist called it "a medical miracle. Absolute miracle." - He noted that "when I had the braces and the wiring on, there was very little healing. In fact, my mouth was alwa..." [text cuts off], suggesting the wiring impeded healing
Gum Recession and Tooth Decay (Personal Account over Years): "When I began eating raw meat twice daily and consuming raw dairy again, within 3 years my tooth decay decreased by 85% and gum recession stopped and reversed about 60%."
Bone Replacement via Cheese and Honey (Patient Case Study): A patient with gum-rotted bone and teeth falling out was put on a protocol of two tablespoons of cheese twice a day with honey. The bone replaced itself within approximately one month.
32% Osteoporosis (Patient Case Study): A woman with 32% bone thinning was put on the bone-remineralization cheese-honey protocol after two meat meals per day. Recovery timeline is not specified in the available passages beyond the protocol itself.
Tooth Stabilizing After Being Loose for 18 Months: Aajonus had a tooth that was connected to the surrounding tissue only at the point where it joined the tooth, "swinging around in there for a year and a half." When extracted, "the blood went across the room, stopped bleeding, just like that. One heartbeat, it bled, and then it stopped just like that." The dentist called it a miracle, noting that the nerve came out the full length of the root.
Root Canal Abscesses: "The fatigue that results may continue for years as long as the infection continues. Even on a healthy diet, the toxicity around the teeth may require more nutrients than most people can eat."
Sensitive Breaking Tooth (Patient Q&A, January 2012): A patient's tooth began breaking off in early January. By February 1st (approximately 3–4 weeks later): "The tooth is back to normal. No pain at all and the infection is gone and the tooth sunk down to its original spot." The cavity remained but the active pain and infection resolved on their own within approximately 3–4 weeks, apparently without dental intervention, during which time the patient had been applying coconut cream topically.
Post-Dental-Surgery Recovery: Having surgery and undergoing all the chemicals involved "is going to distract the body from its other problems for a long while, up to 5 years."

Questions Aajonus Answered
- Direct Questions and Aajonus's Responses
---
Q: She has an infection in her tooth and she was scared and the doctor thought she needed a root canal, she was in so much pain. So, she took the pain formula, but what else can she use?
A (Aajonus): "That is probably the second worst pain in the world, dental pain. It is a problem because it takes a long time to get into the roots and the bones. The latest pain formula from the book is two eggs; five level tbsp. of bee pollen; one tsp. honey; one and a half tbsp. of lemon juice; three to four oz. of either raw cream, raw coconut cream or raw butter. Blend that together for 30–50 seconds and then eat a one inch by one inch by three inch slice of cheese as you drink it. And that usually mitigates it. Now, someone who is having dental pain may have to have two of those a day. And that may not do it by itself. When I went through my pain I had to have protein, I had to stay completely away from fruits. So, I did not eat eggs unless it was with meat, to make sure it did not get made into a solvent."

Q: What about clove oil for tooth pain?
A (Aajonus): "Clove oil is never raw. Well, I didn't use clove oil. I didn't because it ruptured my gums a few years before. What I did was I took whole cloves and put them down here about four hours before I went to have the dental surgery."
---
Q: I recommend [bioflex / calcium substance]. Should I get it and bring it to the dentist?
A (Aajonus): "Oh they usually have it and they just pack it and then I have them put a plastic cap over that... it's a permanent fill thing if you want to make the tooth stronger I recommend bone or ivory and stuff it in there bone is better now they put a steel rod in there so I'd rather have a piece of bone or something to strengthen the tooth."
---
Q: What do you think of [leaving the gap] open if you have the teeth on either side already capped?
A (Aajonus): "Then you have a cap with a false tooth put on there that way, otherwise leave it open. Just remember whatever implants are going to put in you is going to damage the bone, could release many toxins. Not even stainless steel when it's drilled into the bone is safe from dissolving."
---
Q: I had to put implants because I had the root canal and I had problems in the tooth forever and everything was done. Then I had the implant put in and then I had pain down here. Now they told me I have the nerves in my neck are like arthritis. Is it connected to the nerve?
A (Aajonus): "Could be. They're saying they're having a l..." [text cuts off], but the implication is that the implant is a plausible contributor to ongoing nerve pain in the neck.
---
Q: Is there no way that I could regenerate that nerve down here and rebuild that bone because of the severity of the damage?
A (Aajonus): [Speaking of his own case] "Proved them wrong. Here it is not even three months. The 5th of March, I mean the 1st of March, it will be three months since this damage. I still can't chew anything with the front teeth yet. That will probably be another month. But I didn't lose seven teeth and those nerves are still alive and the gum is growing back and the bone is growing back fine. To them that's a medical miracle. Absolute miracle."
---
Q: What is biocalyx?
A (Aajonus): "It's a calcium that helps dry out the nerve so it's not so sensitive. A lot of dentists will put a filling right on top of the nerve and you'll have pain forever. If you put the biocalyx, like a calcium of powder on it and then put the filling over that, no pain. Even if you have an infected nerve, you put biocalyx it'll dry the nerve out. The only way you can infect a nerve is if you drill it and heat it. Or poison it with mercury."
---
Q: What is the kind of dentistry you recommend?
A (Aajonus): "Laser. Laser drilling or a drill with a water jet on it. See, the tooth will only get frightfully painful when it's being drilled if the bit gets hot. The bit gets hot. The tooth gets hot. The nerve burns. And then you've got a burn on the nerve and you've got that swelling in the nerve. You've got all these dead nerve cells that have been burned and the body has to take all this fluid in there to dissolve these dead cells and remove it. You don't have space like that in a tooth. A tooth wasn't received meant to receive that kind of heat deep in it. So, if you've got a water jet on it, it's a cold jet. It keeps the bit cool so it never gets hot. And it's not painful?"
---
Q: Do you never have anesthetic for dental work?
A (Aajonus): "Not since 1970. 1972. I had all my... I had 16 amalgams in my mouth, and I had them all removed in 1978. He removed all the ones on the bottom on one morning, four hours of drilling, and four ho..." [continues], confirming that all 16 amalgams were removed over two sessions of four hours each with no anesthetic.
---
Q: I was curious what you recommend for doing, if you're going to have some kind of dental surgery, you could do like your wisdom teeth out or something like that. I mean, you have to use Novocaine or...
A (Aajonus): "I had, in 1978, I had all of my amalgams removed in two days. Four hours drilled one day, four hours drilling the next morning. I had no Novocaine, none whatsoever. But I found that while he was drilling, the only time that the pain shot and shot fast and hard was if that blade, that drill bit, got hot. So I would touch him on the knee, that was my signal. Touch him on the knee and that bit got hot. So he'd stop it, dip it in cold water and start again. Relatively no pain. A lot of discomfort and tension, you know, because they're drilling. I mean, he was hittin..." [text continues, confirming the principle]
---
Q: Don't have those [deeply embedded teeth] removed? What do you do with the pain?
A (Aajonus): "As I said, you take the filling out that was already in there... Then you just put biocalyx in it and put a filling over it... It's a calcium that helps dry out the nerve so it's not so sensitive."

Q [Patient Letter]: In early January, the back half of one of my lower molars started breaking off. About 1/3 of it is gone now. It was sensitive to pressure and cold, but no longer. At first, I put lime juice on it for 2 days, and now I have been putting coconut cream on it. It is no longer sensitive to cold, but it shocks me if I forget and chew on it. I had the exact tooth on the other side removed some years ago and never had a bridge to replace it. Now the tooth next to this hole is tender. So, now I have 2 big holes and a tender tooth, leaving me unable to chew on either side. If I go to the dentist, they will surely want to fill or remove the 2 damaged teeth and put a bridge in the hole. I need to do something.
A (Aajonus) [from the February 1st update reply]: "I do not accept the neo-dentists' views on root canals. I have had several root canals, some naturally made by my body and some dental. When an area around the tooth is detoxifying (infected), usually it is not the tooth, but the nerve going to the tooth, and the surrounding gums that are toxic. The nerve may be poisoned from the base of the tooth all the way to the brain, but will usually detoxify out the gums however, sometimes out the face or eyes. Having a tooth pulled only seals off the exit point of detoxification. If the tooth naturally, completely releases from the nerve and bone, then extraction is appropriate. Or pull it out yourself when it is that loose. If the tooth is dead as he claims, no root canal is necessary. The root is already dead and drying or already dried. If there is a cavity in the dead tooth and it can be reached without removing the crown, then have it filled. If it is under that cap, no digestive acids are going to get to it anyway so it will not get worse. I suggest you leave the tooth alone and let it eventually fall out on its own."
---
Q [Patient Letter]: The dentist said the root canal can last 10 to 15 years when done right, perhaps a bit more. It is still sore, but I can live with it for a while; it is not excruciating like it was, but is still sore and somewhat painful. I can't chew with it at all. How does a body naturally make a root canal? What do you suggest about dealing with the tooth?
A (Aajonus): "As I stated in my first email about your tooth: I do not accept the neo-dentists' views on root canals. If the tooth naturally, completely releases from the nerve and bone, then extraction is appropriate."

Q [Patient Letter]: Should I really find a dentist to drill in, remove 1mm of my bone and the periodontal ligament, not just extract the tooth? Dr. Meinig said that Dr. Price found bacteria in the tissues and bone just adjacent to the tooth's root. So he recommends slow-speed drilling with a burr, to remove one millimeter of the entire bony socket to remove the periodontal ligament, which is infected with toxins produced by bacteria living in the dentin tubules, and to remove the first millimeter of bone that lines the socket which he says is usually infected.
A (Aajonus): "I have had up to 5 root canals at a time in my mouth and it has not caused the symptoms that Price and Meinig claim happens with root canals. I prefer my own bone, dead or not, to any dental prosthesis. Most alternative dentists want to make their work more important than it is. Of course, having surgery and undergoing all of the chemicals involved is going to distract the body from its other problems for a long while, up to 5 years. So, the claim that removal and scraping into the root corrects disease is basically false. If you are not feeling energetic, there is some othe..." [text cuts off]

Q [Patient Letter]: Is there a possibility that over-acidity from too much protein on this diet is leeching calcium from the body, causing receding gums? A vegan on YouTube said a raw meat diet rots teeth and showed a photograph of a friend with gum disease.
A (Aajonus): "Hi, Wayne, I think that the rant is not logical; you say he rants about decaying teeth but cites gum disease. They are two separate issues although they can be caused by the same toxins. Also, the rant is not rational because he does not consider that everybody stores toxins in their brains, and that toxins from brains most often detoxify through gums, salivary glands and tongue, especially if a person does not have tonsils. Very few people I know on my diet have gum disease and those that do, do not have it because of the foods. It is because of the toxins dumping through gums. Most people I know who have receding gums are vegetarians and vegans, especially fruitarians. Most people have receding gums as they age, ask any dentist, that is not gum disease. We are living in a polluted world of immense airborne, medical and food contamination consisting of radical chemicals that are overly acidic and cause gum and tooth diseases. To get a rational view of whether my Primal Diet creates over-acidity that causes receding gums, one can look to the Inuit (Eskimo), Samburu and Masai. None of those tribes had ANY gum problems or carries as long as they ate their normal raw diets of raw meats and raw dairy. They have the finest teeth into old age that is recorded."
And: "The over-acidity that causes so much gum and tooth disease comes from medical drugs especially injections, and processed foods with free-radical chemicals that dissolve bodily tissue whether the tissue is soft like gums or hard like bones. The gum disease presented by the concerned individual on Youtube is not evidence that my Primal diet caused it. Many people think that a good diet should automatically resolve all health problems quickly. However, consider that our bodies are on Earth-time, not magical time. It takes hours, days, weeks and 40 years on a perfect diet to cleanse and re..." [text cuts off]
And his personal testimony: "When I began eating raw meat twice daily and consuming raw dairy again, within 3 years my tooth decay decreased by 85% and gum recession stopped and reversed about 60%."

Q [Patient Letter]: For the last couple of days, I notice that when I stomp or thump my foot, I feel a throb (reverberation) from that vibration around my upper right molars. Is that anything to be concerned about or to have checked?
A (Aajonus): "You must have some swelling in your upper right molars, detoxification and/or healing. Probably healing because you do not have pain."

Q [Patient Letter re: Tremendous pain on right side, toothache, neck pain]: I'm suffering from a toothache. It's the bottom row, on the right side all the way in the back, the back tooth. My neck was out earlier tonight and I got a neck massage and did ice packs on it... There is still pain there, however... The tooth is a bit loose and when you push down on it, as when eating, the pain increases a lot. The whole head and neck have been in pain in various areas, coming and going.
A (Aajonus) [responding to related sinus and tooth pain context]: "I do not accept the neo-dentists' views on root canals... Having a tooth pulled only seals off the exit point of detoxification... Cold is a major factor in many conditions and sinuses is one."

Q [Re: Decaying Filling]: Is the tooth in fact decaying? Is the size small enough to not be hugely damaging to my brain at least? Also, could the sourness in my mouth not also be from leaking out the gums?
A (Aajonus): "It is not as small as I had imagined and it looks as if it has been decaying for years. I would have it removed if I were you, the sooner the better."
Follow-up: "Is there no risk of coma or serious brain damage from a filling still at this size, correct? Also must I 100% refuse any X-ray?"
A (Aajonus): "It is unheard of, dying from a filling decaying. As I stated on the phone, tell them they can have one X-ray only of that tooth and it has to be the tiniest X-ray-exposure possible."
---
Q [Patient Letter]: When your body starts rejecting fillings, there... [is there anything I should do?]
A (Aajonus) [implied from context]: The question was whether to repair with ceramic crown/filling, get implants, or simply have teeth pulled. Aajonus's overall framework: extraction is preferable to implants (which damage bone), ceramic/porcelain is the best filling material, gold-reinforced crowns are best for bridges, and leaving gaps is preferable to implantation when adjacent teeth are not already capped.
